It was such an honor to capture Heather and Blake's wedding on a frigid but clear Friday the 13th in January of this brilliant new year. You probably know, it's not very often I shoot a wedding preferring the slower and more methodical pace of fine art and landscapes - but Heather is an amazing human who has shown me so much kindness since high school. I was surprised when Heather sent me a message way back in the summer of 2013 asking if I would photograph their wedding if they were ever to get married. True to her word, in 2015 a few days after her engagement, we were planning for the future. I am beyond words for how I grateful I was to photograph their special day.
At 3:00 o'clock in the afternoon the beautiful couple exchanged vows at The Alvirne Memorial Chapel in Hudson, New Hampshire. Heather wore her mother's wedding dress with intricate lace and long train, Blake a deep burgundy tux. The low light of the chapel fit perfectly with their dark fairytale theme for the wedding. You can truly tell how much time Heather and Blake spent on the little details from the dark rich color palette to inscribed rings to personalized notes to every single one of their 100+ guests. But that's the kind of people Heather and Blake are, warm engaging people with such kind hearts who pay attention to life's small details.
Congratulations to the happy couple! And many thanks to my second shooter Cameron Bushong for all your help and hard work.
